MyDate helps you remember the dates that matter — birthdays, anniversaries, renewals, bills, and more. We built MyDate to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
- Your dates, events, notes, and imported contacts are stored on your device. We do not have an account system and we never upload this information to our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- The app shows ads (provided by Google AdMob) and offers an in-app purchase. Those involve limited data as described below.
Information stored on your device
Everything you add to MyDate — event titles, dates, categories, tags, notes, reminder settings, and any contacts you choose to import — is stored locally on your device using the app's on-device database. This data stays on your device unless you explicitly export or back it up yourself (for example, saving a JSON, CSV, or calendar file to your own storage). We cannot see this data.
Permissions we request, and why
- Notifications — to send you the reminders you schedule.
- Alarms & reminders (exact alarm) — so reminders fire at the exact time you chose, even when the app is closed.
- Contacts — only if you use "Import from Contacts." We read contact names and their birthday/event dates on your device to create events. We do not upload your contacts anywhere.
- Run at startup — to re-schedule your reminders after the phone restarts.
- Biometric (fingerprint/face) — only if you enable App Lock; used solely to unlock the app on your device.
- Internet — to load ads, check for important app updates, and open share links.
Purchases
MyDate offers an optional one-time in-app purchase (MyDate Pro), processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we do not receive or store your payment details. The app only learns whether the purchase is active so it can unlock Pro features.
Advertising
MyDate displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process limited information such as your device's advertising identifier, general (non-precise) location, IP address, and app-interaction data. This is used to deliver and measure ads. Purchasing MyDate Pro removes ads.
How Google uses this data is described inGoogle's Privacy & Terms. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device's settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: where required, we show a consent prompt (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are shown, and respect your choice.
App configuration & updates
The app may contact our server to fetch non-personal configuration, such as the minimum supported version or promotional messages. These requests include standard technical details (like app version and device type) and never include your dates, contacts, or personal content.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account or ask for your name or email inside the app.
- We do not use separate third-party analytics or tracking SDKs beyond the advertising described above.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Children
MyDate is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
- Revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.
- Reset your advertising identifier, or buy MyDate Pro to remove ads.
- Delete your data by removing events in the app or uninstalling MyDate, which erases the on-device database.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
