WeddingBestie — A Multilingual Wedding Platform with Live RSVP

We designed and built WeddingBestie end to end — luxury digital wedding invitations with RSVP built in, a live guest dashboard, multilingual sharing and wedding-day QR check-in.

The challenge

Planning a wedding generates a surprising amount of admin, and almost all of it orbits one stubborn question: who’s coming? Traditionally that means paper invitations, a spreadsheet that’s always out of date, scattered replies across messages and calls, and a frantic headcount the week before. The information exists — it’s just scattered, stale and stressful to pull together. And for families who don’t all share a language, even reading the invitation can be a barrier.

We saw this not as a content problem but as a coordination problem — and coordination problems aren’t solved by a prettier brochure. They’re solved by software that holds the live, shared state for everyone and keeps it current.

What we built

WeddingBestie is a full web platform, designed and built end to end. From the outside it looks like a beautiful wedding site; underneath it does real work:

  • Luxury, multilingual invitations from a single shareable link that adapts to the reader — beautiful on every device.
  • A live RSVP dashboard where every reply flows in and updates in real time: attendance, headcount, dietary notes, with CSV export for caterers and planners.
  • Galleries, digital gifting and wedding-day QR check-in — turning months of planning into a smooth arrival on the day itself.

The platform is built around a real data model — events, guests, RSVP statuses, headcounts and notes — which is what lets the dashboard, counts and exports be accurate and effortless rather than a spreadsheet someone has to maintain by hand.

How we worked

We modelled the domain first (the data, not the pages), then designed for repeat use — couples come back again and again as the day approaches, so it had to be fast and pleasant the tenth time, not just the first. We built the “boring” foundations to a high standard — accounts, privacy, dependable counts and exports — because those are invisible when they work and catastrophic when they don’t. The result is a product couples can get live in about a day, on an architecture that doesn’t cut the corners that come back to bite.

The outcome

WeddingBestie is live in production at weddingbestie.id, running real weddings: couples build and share their invitation, guests RSVP, and the live dashboard keeps everyone’s headcount honest right up to the day. It’s a clean example of the difference between a website and a platform — which we unpack in Platform vs Website and take apart in detail in Anatomy of a Web Platform.
