Most companies do not need a research lab — they need working AI software that ships and holds up in production. That is what we do.
NFT Atoms designs and builds custom AI development projects end to end: we scope the problem, prove it with a fast prototype, then engineer it into reliable, monitored production software in your own stack.
What “custom” actually means
Off-the-shelf AI tools are excellent — until your workflow, your data or your accuracy bar stops fitting their template. Custom AI development means the system is built around your problem: your documents, your edge cases, your integrations, your definition of correct. It does not mean building everything from scratch — we use the best available models and components and spend the custom effort exactly where you differentiate. (When off-the-shelf is genuinely the better call, we say so.)
How an engagement runs
1. Discovery (week 0–1). We pin down the highest-leverage use case, audit the data it depends on, and define success as a number — accuracy, hours saved, tickets deflected. If AI is the wrong tool for the job, this is where we tell you.
2. Prototype (weeks 1–4). A narrow, working system against your real data. The goal is to retire the biggest risk early: can the model actually do the task at a usable quality level? You see it working — or you find out cheaply that it will not.
3. Production build (weeks 5–12+). The prototype becomes software: integration with your systems, an evaluation harness that catches regressions, guardrails against bad output, monitoring for quality, latency and cost, and safe rollout with a path back.
4. Handover (or ongoing). Clean code, tests, documentation and a working session with your team. Some clients take the keys; others keep us on for monitoring and improvement. Both are fine — it is your system.
What you get
A deployed, working AI system in your cloud; the evaluation suite that proves it works; documentation your engineers can actually use; and every line of code and model artefact under your ownership. No licences back to us, no lock-in.
Why teams pick us
We are a small senior team, so the people who scope your project are the ones who build it. We run weekly demos rather than monthly status decks. And we build our own products — WeddingBestie, Pillpal, Policy Simulator — so the production lessons in your project were learned on our own users first, not billed to you as experiments.
Curious what this typically costs? Read the 2026 cost guide, or get in touch and tell us what you are building — we reply within one business day.
Where this sits on the capability ladder
Custom development and fine-tuning is the third rung of how teams grow with us: many start with an AI-native product build, add agent systems as workflows mature, then reach for custom models — and, when privacy or latency demands it, edge & on-device deployment. Same team the whole way up.
